Inspired by the cottage witch and the art of herbal foraging, this subtly-crafted blend spell-binds with a handmade Assam black tea, black walnut, and wild violets. Notes of malt, blackberry, baked walnut, elderberry, and honey.
Hexe explores the archetype of the cottage witch, and is resonate with the energies of things home-grown, wild-gathered, and hand-made; of plants lovingly whispered over, thanked, and blessed as they are carefully cut, tied, and hung to dry—later to be gently broken or ground into teas, potions, and medicines. Hexe evokes a sense of soft darkness and the speckled dance of light as it filters through the tree canopy or thick paned glass in the late afternoon. It captures something of the changing wind, and the first falling leaves of autumn—still fresh and vivid—on a forest path, foraged walnuts, wild elderberries and blackberries, and the coziness of a cottage hearth in the fall when the sun has gone down.
The way of the cottage witch is one of simplicity and intimacy with the natural world; of close observation of natural signs; of planting, gathering and medicine-making according to the cycles of the moon and stars; and, of the deft and wise ultization of the resources at hand.
